How to convert audio on a Mac (WAV, MP3, M4A, FLAC)

Convert sound files on a Mac — WAV to M4A, AIFF to MP3, and more, in one drop.

Built in: Music app → Settings → Files → Import Settings, then File → Convert. Slow for anything not in your library.

With Garlic

  1. Drag the sound files and hold ⇧ Shift.
  2. Drop on M4A, WAV, AIFF or ALAC (MP3, FLAC, OGG and Opus with ffmpeg installed).
  3. Or hold ⌥ Option for presets like Podcast (mono, even volume) or Ringtone.

Tags (title, artist, album) can be edited with ⌘ Tools → Metadata.
