How to blur faces in photos and videos on a Mac

Hide faces and text in photos, and blur faces in every frame of a video, on your Mac, so nothing private is uploaded.

Built in: macOS has no built-in way. In Preview you can draw a shape over a photo by hand, one at a time.

With Garlic

  1. Start dragging the photo or film and hold ⌘ Command.
  2. Drop on Redact. Garlic finds faces (and text in photos) on your Mac.
  3. A covered copy appears beside the original.

To remove location and camera details as well, hold ⇧ Shift and drop photos on Clean.
